Injury Protect - Frequently Asked Questions

 

Who can be covered under this policy?

To be eligible to purchase this policy, you must:

  • Live in the United Kingdom, Channel Islands or the Isle of Man for a minimum of 180 days a year
  • Have a valid motor insurance policy in place
  • Not drive overseas for more than 90 days a year

 

When am I covered?

Injury Protect covers you when you are:

  • Driving or getting into or out of any motor car or commercial motor vehicle which you are insured to drive under your motor insurance policy.
  • Making roadside repairs to any motor car or commercial motor vehicle which you are insured to drive under your motor insurance policy.
  • A passenger in any motor car or commercial motor vehicle including getting into or out of such a vehicle.

We will also cover passengers who are travelling with you in any motor car or commercial motor vehicle which you are insured to drive under your motor insurance policy, including their getting into or out of such a vehicle.


What are the exclusions?

The policy does not cover claims in any way caused, contributed to, by or related to:

1.

Your being under the illegal influence of alcohol or drugs when the accident occurs.

2.

Your exceeding the legal speed limit when you are driving when the accident occurs.

3.

Your engaging in illegal acts such as smoking or using a handheld device when you are driving when the accident occurs.

4.

Motor racing or driving where not legally permitted.

Riding a motorcycle or moped whether as a driver or a passenger.

6.

Motor accidents occurring outside the UK, Isle of Man, the Channel Islands and the European Economic Community (EEC).

7.

Nuclear risks.

8.

War.

Biological or chemical warfare.

10.

Planned treatments.

11.

Any treatment received more than 12 months after the date of the motor accident.
